Description of the Cool Moisture by Honeywell
This humidifier is a great option for keeping large rooms and entire houses of up to 2300 square feet of space moisturized by its 3-gallon, easy to fill water tanks.
It does all this on lowest fan setting without asking more. This enables it to keep the indoor environment humidity levels at 40 – 60% creating a conducive, comfortable area to live in especially during the winter when the air is notoriously dry and cold. The result of this is everything from better sleep to improved nasal passage clearance to enhance breathing.
The tanks’ size helps to keep this great atmosphere for 24 hours as they last longer and are very easy to clean and setup.
Its cool moisture console humidifier comes with a wicking filter that helps purify water by removing the white dust from the vapor before it leaves the appliance and into the air. Though not per se harmful, white dust becomes a nuisance and can settle on furniture causing it to warp and discolor as the minerals interact with the surfaces.
Tap water is usually full of minerals. Having a humidifier with working filters can be very important as this makes sure furniture and other items do not react with minerals that are left suspended in the air after the vapor dries.
The Evaporative Technology that blows off water from the filter is very effective in keeping the moisture to the desired level and this helps to keep your home’s structural integrity and your health in check.
This humidifier is a relatively low maintenance appliance. It only requires a seasonal check to make sure that no mold and bacteria is growing which could become part of the air you breathe which could, in turn, cause disease.
Occasionally, cleaning and water replacement is required though but this takes very little of your time to do so. The tanks’ large openings come in handy especially when cleaning.
The purifying filter also lasts long so you don’t have to disassemble the appliance every now and then to insert another.
This advance appliance comes with an intelligent adjustable humidistat that turns the appliance on and off to maintain the humidity level at the desired level. This is important since it ensures that power is not wasted by a humidifier running even when the humidity is at the desired level.
Its Automatic Shut Off feature ensures that the appliance is not running when gallons have been emptied of water, humidity is at the desired level.
This appliance also uses less energy than an 80-watt bulb.
The Honeywell Cool Moisture Humidifier does a great job at keeping the noise level at their lowest levels. Its built-in QuietCare technology ensures that the appliance is 30% quieter than competing units placing it at the top of suitable humidifiers to use for kids’ room.

- Very portable: Only weighs around 20 pounds. It also comes with small caster wheels which makes it very easy to move around.
- Easy to operate with its clearly labeled 3-setting humidistat.
- It's very safe to use as its Auto Shut Off feature ensures that the appliance does not run on empty gallons.
- Does not measure the level of humidity: This means you will have to buy a separate hygrometer to check the level of the humidity.
- No timer setting: If you want the humidifier to run for a set time, you will have to do this manually as the appliance does not have a timer.
- Rattles on low setting: though the noise level is considerably lower than its counterparts, this appliance vibrates when on low setting causing it to rattle and this can be annoying. This can, however, be offset by fixing it on a firm place or place it on a foam rubber. The water tanks are a bit fragile and can crack and break if not handled with care.
This has been an excellent humidifier for the beginning stages of this fall/winter. On the lowest fan setting, it was able to empty one of it's tanks of water within ~10 hours. As some have pointed out, this humidifier did rattle and vibrate though right out of the box. I saw some crazy solutions using rubberbands but I thought there had to be an easier way. After playing around, I noticed that it rattles because the housing with this fan does not sit snug to the base unit. A quick and easy solution to this was to take one of my wife's weights (which she hasn't touched in years) and place it on the fan unit (see the picture). After doing that, the vibration went away! I took wattage readings using a kill-a-watt for those who would be curious on the power consumption this uses. High Fan: 61 Watts, Medium Fan: 51 Watts, Low Fan: 44 Watts. The higher fan settings do seem to push out a lot more air for the minimum wattage increase, but I still keep it on the lowest fan setting just because I dislike the amount of breeze it creates (it causes our curtains to go crazy based on the location we have it)."
